Client Reviews
Michael kurzawski;
"I left the police in December 2022, thinking I had most things planned out upon handing in my resignation notice - I'd started my own business, had some money saved up, and was looking forward to the future. I had done multiple courses, had my CV re-written, and ensured that my LinkedIn profile looked as good as possible.
So naturally, things fell apart in the following few months after.
The business didn't take off, the money dried up, and I was getting no offers from anywhere for new employment. Let's just say, mistakes were made. However, I was still glad I'd left the Job. Former colleagues even 'advised' me to go back, which I immediately dismissed. I knew what I wanted, I just didn't know how to get there.
I was eventually able to find other work, but it wasn't what I really wanted to do. Fast forward 18 months, and I came across Nick's profile on LinkedIn, after he had commented on a mutual connections post. I saw that he had done some work in Project Management, which is the direction I wanted to head in, so I reached out.
I was so glad I did.
We met in person, which I immediately appreciated as it gives you a feeling that Nick wants to get to know you as a person, rather than just via email. He is friendly, welcoming, and open to any suggestions you may have about the path you choose to go down. For example, I told him that I not only wanted to go into Project Management, but as an extra curveball, I wanted to start another business, and ran the idea past him. Straight away he gave me a verbal business plan, and the next steps to take. As he said himself, he has made mistakes in the past with his own business, so any new clients of his wouldn't have to make the same.
Not only this, but Nick was able to help me with developing my CV and preparing me for interviews, ensuring that I am ready for any new vacancies that may come up. He also has a fantastic extensive network of contacts which he can call upon to find suitable roles. This process is always changing, of course. A CV should be amended depending on the role you apply for, and Nick can highlight your strengths, according to what the ATS requires.
I genuinely feel as though I am giving myself the best preparation for both starting my new business and (possibly) finding another role with Nick in my corner.
In conclusion, Nick showed me that there are professionals out there willing to help you - all you need to do is ask. With his knowledge of the job market and expertise in business and how to get the job you really want, he is undoubtedly one of the most invaluable contacts you can make on LinkedIn. If anyone contacts me to ask what to do first on LinkedIn to find a new job, I will always reply with "Firstly, add Nick Ellis as a contact and reach out to him".
